What census data do we have?
There was a 1903 Census of the Philippine Islands, published in 1905. The Tagalogs are placed at 14% (?) nationwide and Visayans are lumped at 42%.
After the war, the Philippines has had population censuses in 1948, 1960, 1970, 1975, 1980, 1995 and 2000. The more recent census results, or at least portions of these, are available at the National Statistics Office website <http://www.nso.gov.ph/>.
